Joel Was A Guy Who Was Always Thinking About His Next Ride. Think About Joining Us For A Great One!
Rain or shine, Joel Winston was always up for a ride. Having fun was just as important to him as helping others, especially those who weren’t able to help themselves. This ride is dedicated to the memory of Joel Winston, a father, husband, son and friend to many in our community. It was a very exciting race weekend. I was also very happy when I won the race. They race was 9 laps, and there was 1 sprint lap half way through on the 4th lap. On the first 3 laps I just stayed in the draft at about 3rd or 4th, and on the sprint lap I wasn't going to go for the sprint, but I was there at the right time and got second by just a few inches. Then the pack reorganized with some people off the back. Then I got back into 3rd or 4th enjoying the draft. Then on the last lap, on ...[Read More]

Then the pack reorganized with some people off the back. Then I got back into 3rd or 4th enjoying the draft. Then on the last lap, on the 3rd to the last corner it was my turn to pull, and I pushed it hard and seperated my self from the pack with a half a lap to go. Lisa Ward then briged up to me and decided to pass me. Then I grabbed on to her wheel and let her pull me to the line. Then I came around her and sprinted against her to the finish. It was so close that we didn't know which one had won. So I ended up getting the victory, and I am looking forward to challenging her next week.
On Sunday's race it was incredibly windy. There were only 4 of us, but we worked together. Tori dropped her chain on the first lap on the hill, and Renee the new lady on Velotek dropped on the second lap on the hill. So then me and Lisa worked together on the last lap, and then on the very last hill, she tried to break away, but I got onto her wheel. She then broke again, and I couldn't respond with only 20 meters to go. It was a close race, but she just had a little bit more than me on the last hill. So I am excited to see what next weekend has in store.
